Dr. Hartmann has called the Santa Barbara area home since arriving in 1960 as a young child.  He attended local schools until going to dental school at the University of Southern California.  After graduating from dental school in 1983, Dr. Hartmann began practicing family and cosmetic dentistry in Montecito and now has the pleasure of treating four generations of some of his earliest patients.

In addition to practicing dentistry, Dr. Hartmann has also been a local avocado rancher and flower grower, a citizen journalist and a local history buff, the father of three daughters, an avid glider pilot and an amateur photographer. He and his wife, Stacey Wright, have walked every street in the city limits of Santa Barbara.
